We’ve got two new pre-orders going on this week - check them out!

Cavity Pre-Order

You can pre-order the CD re-issue of Cavity’s sludge-metal eardrum-destroyer of an album “Laid Insignificant” along with a limited-edition print, t-shirt, and / or hoodie (while supplies last). Click on the photo above for all the details, and thanks to Hydra Head Records for continuing to put out quality, tasty stuff like this. Speaking of, Hydra Head is looking at a VERY busy spring, full of pre-orders for album releases from bands like Kayo Dot, Torche, and more….so hold on to your butts folks!

beans - no, I mean Mike Birbiglia's new DVD. No, I mean beans! Wait...

And then there’s comedian Mike Birbiglia’s new DVD, “What I Should Have Said Was Nothing.” Now - while saying nothing may have made Mike’s life slightly less traumatic, we’re very glad he let his mouth run rampant, and even more glad he decided to let all of us in on the craziness with his new DVD. If you’ve seen this cat on Comedy Central recently (I did last weekend and I laughed so hard I “Fergied” my pants a ‘lilbit), then you don’t need somebody to tell you how funny his stuff is, you already know. If you haven’t seen Mike on tha TV, check out some of his comedy here. Click on the picture above to get more details, and to pre-order Mike’s DVD. Use the time you wait to stock up on toilet paper or depends. You’ll need them.

New Feature: Media Mail!

awesome guy and his awesome cd-r collectionawesome guy and his awesome cd-r collectionawesome guy and his awesome cd-r collection

Big update: today we added Media Mail as a shipping option for all music-only orders. This has been one of the most requested features recently forever. If you’re not familiar, Media Mail (Wiki link, pops) is for cds, vinyl, audio tapes, books, etc., and is cheaper than Priority Mail. Since the Post Office hiked rates last year Priority Mail has been the only way to ship most vinyl, and given the dramatic price increase of the postage it’s mostly sucked ass for anyone interested in records. CD-R guy up there approves, big time.

Feedback time, let’s hear it!

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

According to the stats about 10 people are reading this thing, so I figured we should ask what you think about, well, everything. Let us know what you love, hate, features you’d like to request, how much you love our hawt models, how ugly the blog is, if you’d like your orders delivered via magic carpet, etc. Post a comment and make yourself heard!

Inside out and cuddly all over!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Love me!!Bear 1 Stuffed animals are cute and cuddly, sure, but inside-out stuffed animals take things one step into the crazy zone. These cute/cuddly/bizarre little critters are the brainchildren of artist Kent Rogowski who takes normal, run-of-the-mill stuffed animals (I think the blue guy on the left started life as a Care Bear), turns them inside out, then re-stuffs and sews them for a completely twisted take on cute. These little guys might just scare the crap out of a little kid, but will work the opposite way for most adults by taking stuffed animals out of the “creepy-with-mommy-issues” zone by bumping them up to the level of “works of art”. Click the thumbnails for a close-up view of Rogowski’s stuffed animal art, or check out more of Rogowski’s creations on his website here.

Viva La Innovacion @ Indie Tech

I know what you’re saying, “When will they do a Gil Amelio shirt?” Well for now you’re going to be stuck with a shirt celebrating the second best CEO in apple’s history. The credit on this one goes to Sean and Adam, Che Guevara’s ghost with the assist. By the way, if you’re not familiar, we, the BCD, have a few clothing lines, one of which is Indie Tech.

Screen printed posters - fine art for the rest of us!

Posters!

Think regular, flimsy paper posters look tacky, but can’t afford to buy paintings and the like? Join the club (I’ll bring the cookies)!!! Well, us folks here at BCD are out to prove that you don’t have to spend the big $$$ to get interesting, artistic, screen printed posters that will look fabulous hanging anywhere from the dorm room to the living room. We were thinking of proving this with a cage match fight to the death of some sort, but decided to just quit with the drama so we could design and print some great posters for bands and folks we like. We call this our “Blue Collar Poster Guild,” you can check out a sampling of our stuff above - click on the photo to see many, many more. Remember, even though these posters look like they cost and arm and a leg, many are on sale right now for as low as $10 - so you can keep your limbs and your wallet intact!
